The role involves safely operating Zipline's commercial drone delivery fleet beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) while maintaining strict compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures. Candidates must hold an FAA-issued Part 107 remote pilot certificate and complete Zipline's specialized Fleet Commander training program (approximately 2 weeks, conducted near Charlotte, North Carolina). This position offers competitive compensation ($45-$48/hour), full coverage of training and travel expenses, and the opportunity to work on a mission-critical logistics platform that completes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds.
Requirements
- FAA-issued Part 107 (P107) remote pilot certificate
- Prior experience with UAS or traditional flight operations
- Sound judgment and decision-making in time-sensitive, safety-critical environments
- Completion of Zipline Fleet Commander (RPIC) training program
- Valid US driver's license
- Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background check
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Willingness to work some nights and weekends
- Ability to travel minimum 10% of time for training and site launches
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Technical problem-solving abilities and basic data fluency
