About This Role
Spirit Airlines is seeking highly motivated First Officers to join their Flight Operations team based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The airline is a team-oriented, guest-focused carrier committed to delivering safe, reliable, and friendly service on scheduled routes. Candidates must have a minimum of 1,500 total flight hours (including 250 PIC hours), an ATP certificate with multi-engine rating, and a valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate. Pilots will operate aircraft safely in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations while maintaining strong crew resource management and providing professional guest-focused service. The position requires the ability to work variable schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays, with willingness to relocate or commute to a Spirit pilot base.
Requirements
- Minimum age 23 years
- ATP or Restricted ATP certificate with multi-engine rating
- 1,500 hours total flight time
- 500 hours fixed-wing
- 50 hours multi-engine
- 250 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
- 100 hours flight time in preceding 12 months
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- FCC Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- Valid passport/documents with 12+ months validity
- Fluent English language proficiency
- Excellent communication skills and aeronautical decision-making
- High attention to detail and procedure adherence
- Ability to work variable schedule including nights, weekends, holidays
- Willingness to relocate or commute reliably to Spirit pilot base
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and 10-year background check
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally
