About This Role
Sierra West Airlines is seeking qualified Second-in-Command (SIC) pilots to join their Metroliner cargo operation based in El Paso, Texas. This is a fast-paced, on-demand position that requires dependable, adaptable pilots with strong safety focus. Candidates must have a minimum of 800 total flight hours with 250 hours PIC and 75 hours multi-engine experience, plus a Commercial Pilot License with multi-engine and instrument ratings. This role offers valuable real-world experience in cargo operations with an on-demand schedule including overnight callouts, weekends, and holidays, though candidates must be willing to relocate to El Paso and work various shifts.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Professional communications for complex internal and external aircraft communications
- Assist with loading and unloading freight
- Operate aircraft in accordance with all applicable regulations and company policies
- Emphasize flight crew safety and exemplary customer service
- Note and communicate aircraft deficiencies for maintenance review
- Perform flights during day, night, and various weather conditions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Commercial Pilot License with multi-engine land and instrument rating
- Current Instrument Proficiency Check
- ICAO English Level 4 proficiency
- Minimum 18 years of age
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- FCC Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- Current Passport (passport cards not accepted)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to lift up to 125 lbs, climb ladders, and maneuver around aircraft
- Successful completion of DOT drug screening and background checks
- Ability to obtain airport SIDA badge
- Willingness and ability to relocate to El Paso, Texas base
- Ability to work various shifts, overtime, and after-hour call outs
- Minimum 800 hours total flight time
- Minimum 250 hours PIC
- Minimum 75 hours multi-engine
- 40 hours turbine experience preferred
- iPad required when reporting for duty
