About This Role
Cactus Wellhead, a corporate aviation division based in Houston, Texas, is seeking an experienced First Officer to support operations of their Challenger 300/350 aircraft based in Sugar Land. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring a minimum of 3,000 total flight hours and a commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating. The role involves assisting the Pilot in Command with all phases of flight operations, pre-flight preparation, and being prepared to assume PIC responsibilities when required. Applicants should have professional pilot experience, preferably with jet time and international flight experience on Challenger aircraft.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Pilot in Command in all phases of flight operations (pre-flight, in-flight, post-flight)
- Ensure aircraft readiness including inspections, cleanliness, stocking, and documentation
- Adhere to all FAA, FAR, AIM, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain current knowledge of aviation regulations and company procedures
- Operate in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support flight planning, navigation, communication, and operational decision-making
- Maintain accurate flight records and required documentation
- Provide high-level customer service to passengers and stakeholders
- Coordinate with flight department personnel, maintenance teams, and operations
- Monitor and report safety, operational, or maintenance concerns
- Be prepared to assume Pilot in Command responsibilities if necessary
- Represent the company professionally with passengers and airport personnel
Requirements
- Commercial pilot certificate with appropriate category and class ratings
- Instrument rating
- Minimum 3,000 total flight hours
- Second-class medical certificate
- Three (3) years as a professional pilot
- Jet time in Pilot-in-Command or SIC capacity preferred
- International jet experience - Challenger 300/350 preferred
- Current on instrument flight time and night landing currency requirements
- Able to pass an instrument competency check in Challenger category
- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent, or four (4) years related experience
- Valid work authorization in the United States
- Pass background check and drug screening
