Southwest Airlines is seeking First Officers for their Boeing 737 fleet to join a team passionate about connecting people to what matters most. Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate Boeing 737 aircraft on scheduled routes
- Deliver friendly and reliable service consistent with Southwest Airlines standards
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, crew, and ground personnel
- Work cooperatively with Captain, Flight Attendants, Dispatcher, and Ground Personnel
- Comply with all FAA regulations and Southwest Airlines operating procedures
- Conduct pre-flight checks and maintain aircraft airworthiness
- Perform aircraft turns efficiently within 15-20 minute timeframes
- Submit reports on irregularities and incidents as required
- Notify Base Chief Pilot or Assistant Chief Pilot of any safety-related discrepancies
- Assume command as Captain if Captain becomes incapacitated during flight
- Direct flight crew when assigned by Captain to ensure operational safety and efficiency
- Assist passengers as needed (wheelchairs, luggage, escort services)
- Comply with company Drug-Free Workplace and Alcohol Misuse policies

Requirements
- Valid USA DOT/FAA Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
- Valid USA DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate with any necessary Special Issuance or SODA
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- Valid United States Driver's License
- Valid passport with ability to travel internationally without restriction
- Minimum 500 hours in fixed-wing turbine aircraft
- B737 type rating required
- Turbine Pilot In Command (TPIC) time from 121 airline, military, or U.S. based flight experience
- Must be U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States
- No work authorization sponsorship available or required
- Must be at least 23 years of age at time of hire
- Able to lift and move 40 lbs
- High School Diploma or GED minimum
- Must be able to comply with company attendance standards and work rules
- Must be able to read, speak, write and understand English
- Must meet all regulatory criteria for CREW badge designation
- Successfully pass background check and continuous Rap Back enrollment
- Must grant Southwest Airlines access to Pilot Records Database (PRD) information
