About This Role
Textron Systems' Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC) is hiring an experienced fighter pilot based at Point Mugu Naval Air Warfare Center, California, to fly contracted adversary and tactical training missions for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force. Flying the IAI F-21 Kfir, MK-58 Hawker Hunter, F-1 Mirage or AERO Vodochody L-39 Albatros, the pilot serves as a surrogate adversary, Red Air, aggressor or close air support pilot supporting 4th- and 5th-generation fighter training, surface-fleet pre-deployment training and large-force employment exercises. The position is full-time, onsite and individual-contributor, with roughly 20% travel and deployments to Navy, Marine and Air Force bases in the United States and overseas.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Fly ATAC fighter aircraft (F-21 Kfir, Hawker Hunter, Mirage F1 and L-39 Albatros) throughout their flight envelope as a surrogate adversary, Red Air, aggressor or close air support pilot for U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and USAF aircrew, JTACs, surface fleet, large-force employment exercises and intercept controllers, supporting 4th- and 5th-generation fighter operational, conversion-syllabus and continuation-training missions. Conduct flight operations from ATAC's permanent facilities (Newport News, Virginia

- and Kaneohe Bay MCAS, Hawaii) and deploy to other Navy, Marine and Air Force locations as required. Maintain FAA instrument currency, Second Class medical certification, adversary mission qualifications and associated mission currencies, including low-level, dynamic-mission and unlimited air-combat-tactics maneuvering in the high-G environment. Attend mass briefings, adversary-coordination briefings and other pre-flight briefings

- and conduct flight debriefings and mass debriefings. Adhere to all training rules and pre-briefed maneuvering restrictions, complete required ground training before flights, collect and disseminate lessons learned, and deploy as needed. Additional duties may include acting as, or supporting, the individual responsible for pilot scheduling, training, NATOPS/standards and evaluation, safety, or other program-management responsibilities.

Requirements
- Required experience: previously a DoD tactically trained fighter pilot
- previously qualified as a 4-ship/division flight lead
- 700 hours pilot-in-command (PIC) of any fixed-wing DoD-owned/operated fighter aircraft
- 100 hours PIC at night
- 100 hours PIC logged in the past 12 months
- a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
- an FAA Commercial certificate with Airplane Single-Engine Land privileges
- a Secret security clearance
- and U.S. citizenship. Specific Navy contract qualifications add 1,000 hours PIC of a military tactical aircraft and 500 hours PIC of any fixed-wing DoD-owned/operated fighter aircraft. Applicants must pass a government security investigation and meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, for access to classified information

- USN Fighter Weapons School / NAWDC / TOPGUN graduate
- Test Pilot School graduate
- DoD military instructor pilot qualification

- functional check flight pilot qualification
- NVG and CRM instructor qualifications
- an FAA CFI(I) certificate
- familiarization with the DoD commercial air services industry
- FAA authorized experimental aircraft privileges
- DoD Safety School or Board President Course graduate
- squadron command experience
