About This Role
Cirrus Aircraft seeks a senior Engineering Flight Test Pilot to lead complex flight test programs for aircraft development and certification. This technical role requires planning, executing, and analyzing experimental flight tests while ensuring regulatory compliance with FAA, EASA, and other authorities. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experimental flight test experience, 2+ years as a flight test pilot, 1500+ total flight hours with 500+ turbine hours, and graduation from an accredited test pilot school. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 5 years experimental flight test experience
  • 2 years flight test pilot experience
  • 1500 hours total flight time
  • 500 hours turbine time
  • 100 hours flown in the last 12 months
  • Previous turbojet type rating preferred
  • Graduate of accredited test pilot school long course or equivalent
  • FAA/TCCA/EASA Certification program experience preferred
  • Qualified experience to FAA DER/UM/ODA Flight Test Pilot requirements within one year preferred
  • Knowledge in flight dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion systems, avionics, and aircraft systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of FAA, EASA, MIL-STD regulations and safety protocols
  • Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies for flight test programs
  • Proven leadership skills leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Valid pilot license and medical certificate
  • Ability to maintain flexibility in dynamic test program environment
