About This Role
AirQuest Aviation, a Western Pennsylvania fixed-base operator (FBO) with locations at Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport and Beaver County Airport, is seeking a Director of Flight Operations/Pilot to lead their flight operations department. This is a leadership and operational control position responsible for designing and implementing safe, efficient flight operations infrastructure while maintaining FAA compliance and managing flight personnel. Candidates must hold an ATPL and have at least 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience in Part 121 or Part 135 operations, or equivalent PIC experience. Duties & Responsibilities
- Report to VP of Operations on flight operations matters
- Design and maintain infrastructure supporting safe and efficient flight operations
- Develop operational solutions and act as point of contact for pilots on operational control issues
- Manage aircraft performance analysis and record keeping
- Maintain FAA relations and ensure regulatory compliance
- Lead talent acquisition for flight operations personnel
- Ensure legal, safe, and efficient operation of the flight operations department
- Develop and enforce company flight operations policies
- Approve selection of all flight operations personnel
- Maintain all required flight operations records and load manifests
- Establish relationships with FAA Principal Inspectors
- Ensure qualified and current pilots are assigned to each flight
- Coordinate with Director of Maintenance to ensure aircraft maintenance compliance
- Perform flight crew duties when properly qualified in assigned aircraft
- Designate Pilot-in-Command for each flight

Requirements
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATPL) certificate
- At least 3 years supervisory or managerial experience in Part 121 or Part 135 operations within the last 6 years, OR
- At least 3 years experience as Pilot-in-Command of aircraft operated under Part 121 or Part 135 within the past 6 years
- For returning Directors of Operations: at least 3 years PIC experience on Part 121 or Part 135 aircraft
- PC-24 experience preferred
- Valid medical certificate
- Must be able to work on project sites with various safety hazards
- Subject to enhanced drug testing due to Federal Contractor status
- May require working at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
