About This Role
Dollar Tree is seeking an experienced Corporate Pilot to operate various jet aircraft for their aviation department based in Chesapeake, Virginia. The pilot will be responsible for safe crew and passenger transport, flight planning, aircraft maintenance coordination, and training of co-pilots. Candidates must possess either an ATPL or CPL with a minimum of 4,000 total flight hours, including 2,000 hours multi-engine and 1,000 hours PIC in jet aircraft. This is a full-time position requiring a valid first-class FAA Medical Certificate, U.S. Passport, and Norfolk International Airport security clearance. The role offers the opportunity to work in corporate aviation for a major retail company with comprehensive pilot responsibilities including crew development and safety management system participation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely conduct and operate company aircraft
- Ensure compliance with all FARs, foreign regulations, and company policies
- Review trip itineraries and coordinate with Scheduler/Dispatcher
- Conduct weather, NOTAM, and runway analysis for all flights
- Brief crew members on flight procedures, safety, and emergency protocols
- Supervise and coordinate with other crew members during flight preparation and operations
- Train and develop co-pilots on techniques and procedures
- Monitor crew professional behavior and duty compliance
- Coordinate maintenance services and aircraft repairs
- Complete flight documentation including BART data entry and expense reporting
- Maintain current flight experience and currency
- Participate in Aviation Department Safety Management System (SMS)
- Attend and pass all assigned annual and recurrent training
Requirements
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot (CPL) Certificate
- Minimum 4,000 hours total flight time
- Minimum 2,000 hours multi-engine time
- Minimum 1,000 hours PIC in jet aircraft
- Aircraft type qualification per FAR 61
- Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- United States Passport
- Able to obtain and maintain Airport Security clearance for Norfolk International Airport
- Able to lift minimum 50 pounds
- Ability to work full-time
- Annual recurrent pilot training required
