About This Role
Nutrien, a leading global provider of crop inputs and agricultural services, is seeking an experienced Chief Pilot to oversee all US-based flight operations for their corporate aircraft. This Director-level position reports to the Operations Manager and requires managing all pilots, aircraft operations, safety systems, and regulatory compliance for their Citation Sovereign fleet based in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of professional aviation experience with 5+ years in aviation management, minimum 7000 total flight hours including 4000 PIC and 2000 jet hours. This full-time, on-site role offers a competitive salary range of $169,100-$265,650 annually, comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement matching, and eligibility for annual and long-term incentive plans.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Control operations and operational standards of all US aircraft operated
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager, Chief Pilot and Senior Manager Aircraft Maintenance for managing functions impacting operational control
  • Actively support the safety management system
  • Validate and address safety-risk management deficiencies
  • Ensure all operations processes and procedures include risk management mitigation
  • Liaise with US regulatory authority on flight operations matters
  • Liaise with US-based external agencies affecting aircraft operations
  • Ensure flight operations and maintenance conduct compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory standards
  • Ensure crew scheduling complies with flight and duty time limitations
  • Keep all crew members informed of FAA regulation and operating standard changes
  • Receive and take action on aeronautical information affecting flight safety
  • Disseminate aircraft safety information internally and externally
  • Ensure flight crew qualifications remain current
  • Maintain current operations library
  • Oversee welfare of flight operations personnel
  • Ensure personnel participate effectively in safety management system

Requirements
  • FAA ATP License
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate
  • Minimum 7000 hours total flight time
  • Minimum 4000 hours Pilot in Command
  • Minimum 2000 hours jet experience
  • Minimum 100 hours multi-crew cockpit experience
  • 15+ years professional aviation experience
  • 5+ years aviation management experience of similar scope
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business administration, or related field (preferred)
  • Corporate Flight Department experience
  • Super mid-size/large jet experience
  • International flying experience (strong asset)
  • Citation Sovereign currency/experience (beneficial)
  • Ability to cross international borders
  • No incidents or accidents under FAA regulations
  • No convictions that would prevent holding driver's license or ATPL
  • Ability to travel frequently and on short notice
  • Must pass background check and substance test
  • Must meet minimum age requirements
