About This Role
Solairus Aviation is hiring a full-time Challenger 650 Captain for an operation at KBED in Bedford, Massachusetts. The Captain will operate the aircraft safely and prudently, review aircraft maintenance status, complete pre-flight and route planning, comply with Solairus procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, protect passengers, crew and aircraft, and complete trip documentation accurately. The position requires on-call availability, annual ICAO international procedures training, and residence within a two-hour drive of KBED or willingness to relocate. The operation emphasizes safety, service, integrity, teamwork and reliable support of client travel needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain is responsible for the safe operation of the Challenger 650 and for conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner. Duties include reviewing the aircraft maintenance status
- conducting a complete pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual
- checking weather and facilities along the route and at planned and alternate airports
- ensuring compliance with Solairus Aviation policies, procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- ensuring the safety of passengers, the aircraft and crew
- and accurately completing all trip paperwork under current procedures.
Requirements
- Required qualifications include 3,000 hours of total flight time, 1,500 hours of PIC time, 1,500 hours of MEL time, 500 hours of MEL PIC time, 500 hours in turbojet aircraft and 250 hours of instrument time.
- Applicants must be type rated on the Challenger 650 or a comparable aircraft and hold a first-class medical.
- The Captain must be able to work on an on-call basis, complete ICAO international procedures training annually, and maintain a primary residence within a two-hour drive of KBED or be willing to relocate.
