About This Role
University of Alaska Anchorage is seeking Certified Flight Instructors for various piston aircraft positions. This is a general aviation flight training role based in Anchorage, Alaska. Candidates must hold a valid FAA CFI, CPL, or IR license with a minimum Class 2 Medical Certificate. The position offers hourly compensation ranging from $36 to $42 per hour depending on certification level, with preference given to instructors with Part 141 experience and a Bachelor's degree.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Instruct students in flight operations on various piston aircraft
- Conduct pre-flight briefings and post-flight debriefings
- Evaluate student performance and progress
- Maintain aircraft safety standards during instruction
- Complete required flight training logs and documentation
Requirements
- Valid FAA CFI license
- Valid FAA CPL or IR license
- Valid Class 2 Medical Certificate
- FAA Advanced Ground Instructor Certificate preferred
- CFII (Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument) preferred for levels II and III
- MEI (Multi-Engine Instructor) preferred for CFI Level III
- 14 CFR Part 141 experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Type rating not required (training provided)
