About This Role
MGM Resorts International seeks an experienced Captain for their aviation department based in Atlantic City, New Jersey. As Pilot in Command, you will have overall responsibility for flight crew, passengers, and safe aircraft operation while supporting the company's VVIP transport needs. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years relevant experience, a minimum of 3000 total flight hours (2500 on multi-engine jets), and type ratings in company-owned aircraft. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Exercise command of aircraft and overall responsibility for flight crew, passengers, and cargo
  • Perform duties as Pilot in Command (PIC) with final authority and responsibility for aircraft operation
  • Maintain safety culture with efficient procedures supporting customer service
  • Direct flight crew activities and ensure understanding of duties and responsibilities
  • Verify aircraft airworthiness and proper onboard documentation
  • Make decisions on flight start, delay, cancellation, or destination deviation based on operating conditions
  • Obtain and review flight briefings on purpose, weather, procedures, and special instructions
  • Prepare or supervise flight plan preparation considering altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, and navigation
  • Ensure weather and aircraft performance conditions can be met for planned operation
  • Verify proper completion of aircraft weight and balance forms/manifest
  • Ensure flight plan or authorized flight locating procedures are followed
  • Report all known or suspected FAA violations or incidents to Vice President of Aviation
  • Ensure crew briefs passengers appropriately for each flight phase
  • Verify emergency equipment and passenger comfort provisions are onboard and cargo is secured
  • Ensure preparation of flight logs and reporting of mechanical irregularities
  • Communicate maintenance discrepancies and current aircraft status to maintenance personnel
  • Ensure aircraft cleanliness and preparation with stores and catering provisions for safety and comfort
  • Manage other flight department duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Valid FAA ATPL license
  • Minimum 3000 hours total pilot flight time
  • Minimum 2500 hours multi-engine jet time
  • Experience operating large-cabin aircraft
  • Experience with advanced electronic/digital avionics cockpits
  • Type rating in one or more company-owned aircraft (required or obtainable)
  • No FAA violations or at-fault accidents/incidents
  • 3+ years prior relevant aviation experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (preferred)
  • Previous VVIP operation experience (preferred)
  • Previous resort/hospitality setting experience (preferred)
