About This Role
National Airways Corporation is seeking an experienced Captain to operate Learjet aircraft from their Johannesburg base in South Africa. This is a permanent position in corporate/business aviation requiring significant command experience. Candidates must have a minimum of 5000 total flight hours with 1000 hours PIC and 1000 hours jet experience, along with a valid ATPL license and Class 1 Medical Certificate. The role requires pilots to be based within 45 minutes of Lanseria airport and maintain a high standard of professionalism and reliability.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate Learjet aircraft as Pilot in Command
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight checks
- Ensure compliance with all safety and operational procedures
- Manage flight operations and crew coordination
- Maintain accurate flight documentation and records
Requirements
- Valid ATPL license (SACAA accepted)
- Minimum 5000 hours total flight time
- Minimum 1000 hours PIC (Pilot in Command)
- Minimum 1000 hours multi-engine time
- Minimum 1000 hours turbine/jet time
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
- ICAO English Level 4 proficiency
- Type rating on LR35 preferred (training provided if not current)
- Able to reach Lanseria office within 45 minutes after receiving flight call
