About This Role
Northern Thunderbird Air is seeking an experienced Captain for King Air 350 operations based in Chisasibi, serving the Cree Nation of Eeyou Istchee in northern Quebec. This is a unique opportunity to operate essential medical evacuation services and regional flights in remote Arctic conditions on modern twin-engine turboprops. The role requires a Canadian ATPL with minimum 1,600 total flight hours including 200 hours on turboprops, with Arctic and gravel operations experience preferred. Northern Thunderbird Air operates two pressurized Beechcraft King Air 350s certified for 24/7 medical and charter services, offering meaningful work in a culturally inclusive and operationally challenging environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate King Air 350 on regional, charter, and medical evacuation flights
- Conduct pre-flight inspections and safety checks
- Ensure compliance with CARs 703/704 regulations
- Perform operations in challenging Arctic and remote conditions
- Coordinate with medical personnel on medevac flights
- Maintain flight documentation and crew resource management

Requirements
- Valid Canadian ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot)
- Minimum 1,600 total flight hours
- Minimum 200 hours on turboprop aircraft
- King Air 350 type rating (preferred)
- Arctic/gravel operations experience (preferred)
- Fluency in French or English
- Valid Transport Canada pilot license
- Class 1 Medical Certificate (implied)
- Ability to work rotation schedule based in Chisasibi
