About This Role
Thrive Aviation is seeking a Captain/Pilot in Command for the HondaJet HA-420. The Captain is responsible for safe and efficient ground and flight operations, passenger handling, regulatory and company-procedure compliance, coordination with crew and operational departments, and delivering a high-quality customer experience. The role also includes training and mentoring First Officers while serving as a leader who communicates effectively with dispatch, maintenance, administration, and company leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain is administratively responsible to the Chief Pilot and primarily responsible for safe and efficient ground and in-flight operation of the aircraft.
- Duties include checking the identification of all passengers before boarding, thoroughly completing the pre-flight checklist, training and mentoring First Officers on assigned flights and aircraft, anticipating customer needs, and striving to exceed customer expectations.
- The Captain must comply with FAA regulations, Thrive Aviation's General Operations Manual, operational specifications, and department operating procedures.
- The role requires maintaining communication and coordination with assigned crew, dispatch, maintenance, and administration, along with performing other duties assigned by management or senior leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include 3,000 hours of fixed-wing total time, 1,500 hours of PIC total time, and 500 hours of total turbine time.
- Applicants must hold a valid, unexpired US passport, an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate, an FCC Radio License, and a current, valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Candidates must be able to fly internationally into any country or jurisdiction without restrictions, communicate effectively, work in a fast-paced environment, accept new challenges as the company grows, and reside within two hours of a major airport.
- Physical requirements include maintaining a seated position in a small space for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- The work may require spending several days away from home each week, working irregular hours, and responding to flight assignments or cancellations with little notice.
- Previous corporate aviation or Part 135 charter experience and a current type rating for an aircraft in Thrive Aviation's fleet are preferred.
