About This Role
Thrive Aviation is seeking a HondaJet HA-420 Captain responsible for safe, efficient ground and in-flight aircraft operations. The Captain leads assigned flight crews, mentors First Officers, coordinates with dispatch, maintenance, administration and leadership, communicates effectively with customers and crew, and ensures compliance with FAA regulations, the company General Operations Manual, operational specifications and department procedures. The role may involve several days away from home each week, irregular hours and short-notice flight assignments or cancellations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain is administratively responsible to the Chief Pilot and primarily responsible for the safe and efficient ground and in-flight operation of the aircraft.
- Duties include checking passenger identification before boarding, thoroughly completing the pre-flight checklist, training and mentoring First Officers on assigned flights and aircraft, anticipating customer needs and exceeding customer expectations, complying with FAA regulations, Thrive’s General Operations Manual, operational specifications and department procedures, and maintaining communication and coordination with assigned crew, dispatch, maintenance and administration.
- The Captain also performs other duties assigned by management or senior leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include 3,000 hours of fixed-wing total time, 1,500 hours of total PIC time and 500 hours of total turbine time.
- Applicants must hold a valid US passport, an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, an FCC Radio License and a current, valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Candidates must be able to communicate effectively, thrive in a fast-paced environment, take on new challenges as the company grows, and be eligible to fly internationally into any country or jurisdiction without restrictions.
- Applicants must reside in, or within two hours of, a major airport.
- Physical requirements include maintaining a seated position in a small space for an extended period and lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- The work is performed in a small space with customers and other flight crew, may require several days away from home each week, and may involve irregular hours or short-notice flight calls and cancellations.
