About This Role
Thrive Aviation is seeking a Las Vegas-based Captain and Pilot in Command for the G450. The Captain is responsible for safe and efficient ground and in-flight operations, checking passenger identification, completing the pre-flight checklist, and delivering an exceptional customer experience, including service for high-profile clients while practicing discretion and confidentiality. The role calls for clear communication with leadership, team members, dispatch, maintenance, administration and the assigned crew, as well as leadership and mentoring of First Officers. The Captain must comply with FAA and international aviation requirements, Thrive's GOM, Operational Specifications and department procedures while supporting overwater, long-haul and international missions. Trips may require several weeks or more away from home, irregular hours, call-outs to fly and little-notice flight changes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Report administratively to the Chief Pilot and take primary responsibility for the safe and efficient ground and in-flight operation of the aircraft.
- Check the identification of all passengers before boarding and ensure the pre-flight checklist is completed thoroughly.
- Train and mentor First Officers on assigned flights and aircraft, anticipate customer needs and strive to exceed expectations, and maintain clear communication and coordination with the assigned crew, dispatch, maintenance and administration.
- Comply with FAA and international aviation regulations, Thrive's GOM, Operational Specifications and department operating procedures, and perform other duties assigned by management or senior leadership.
Requirements
- Applicants must have a minimum of 4,000 hours of total flight time, including at least 1,000 hours of multi-engine time as PIC, and prior experience with overwater, long-haul and international missions. The candidate must reside in, or within two hours of, SNA, VNY, BUR, LAX, ONT, LGB, SAN, OAK, SFO, SJC, PDX, SEA, PHX, ABQ, LAS, RNO, DEN, DAL, DFW, AUS, DSM, IAH, HOU, PBI, FLL, MIA, TPA, MCO, ORD, PWK, ATL, GSO, CLT, TEB, LGA, EWR, JFK or BOS
- candidates living in LAS are highly preferred. The posting requires experience delivering prestigious levels of guest service to high-profile clients and practicing the highest level of discretion and confidentiality. It also requires COVID-19 vaccination because of international travel requirements, a pilot certificate, a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) permit, an FAA First Class Medical Certificate, a valid US passport that is not expired, and eligibility to fly internationally into any country or jurisdiction without restrictions. A current type rating in the applied aircraft is highly desired. Candidates must communicate effectively, thrive in a fast-paced environment and be willing to take on new challenges as the company grows. Physical requirements include maintaining a seated position in a small space for an extended period and lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance. The work is generally performed sitting for long periods in a small space with customers and other flight crew, and may require several weeks or more away from home, irregular hours, being called to fly and notification of canceled flights with little notice based on business needs, flight schedules and booked international itineraries.
