About This Role
DHL Aero Expreso S.A. is seeking a Captain based in Tocumen, Panama. The Pilot in Command is responsible for conducting takeoffs, approaches, landings, navigation, flight-plan compliance, coordination with air traffic control, and adherence to applicable civil aviation regulations, while exercising appropriate safety judgment during emergencies. The posting requires an Airline Transport Pilot Licence, recent logbook documentation, certified bilingual English and Spanish proficiency, a current medical certificate, strong interpersonal and decision-making skills, operational availability, and adaptability during the selection process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain must ensure that takeoff, approach, and landing phases are conducted in weather conditions no lower than the minimums established for the airport in use, except in an emergency when the Pilot in Command may act according to their judgment. They must ensure that all instruments and equipment needed for the flight, including emergency equipment, as well as onboard survival and safety equipment, are accessible and in proper working condition. The Captain completes the navigation portion of the operational flight plan to monitor the progress of the operation and is responsible for any voluntary or accidental deviation from the original flight plan, reporting such deviations to air traffic control. Flights must comply with the applicable AAC provisions and regulations
- however, when circumstances may endanger the aircraft or its occupants, the Pilot in Command may take the measures they consider most appropriate in the interest of flight safety, even when those measures depart from current regulations.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold an Airline Transport Pilot Licence and provide a copy sealed by the AAC of the last three pages of their logbook.
- They must be bilingual in English and Spanish, with a minimum level 4 in both spoken and written communication certified by the AAC.
- A current medical fitness certificate is required.
