About This Role
Thrive Aviation is seeking a typed Challenger 3500 Captain/Pilot in Command based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Captain is responsible for safe and efficient ground and flight operations, passenger identification and service, checklist completion, crew coordination, and compliance with FAA regulations, company manuals, operational specifications, and department procedures. The role also includes training and mentoring First Officers while maintaining effective communication with customers, dispatch, maintenance, administration, and leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain reports administratively to the Chief Pilot and is primarily responsible for safe and efficient ground and in-flight aircraft operations.
- Duties include checking passenger identification before boarding, thoroughly completing the pre-flight checklist, training and mentoring First Officers on assigned flights and aircraft, anticipating customer needs and exceeding expectations, complying with FAA regulations, Thrive Aviation's General Operations Manual, operational specifications, and department procedures, and maintaining communication and coordination with the assigned crew, dispatch, maintenance, and administration.
- The Captain may also perform other duties assigned by management or senior leadership.
Requirements
- Applicants must have a minimum of 3,000 hours of total time, a pilot certificate, an FCC permit, an FAA First Class Medical Certificate, a valid unexpired U.S. passport, and a current type rating in the company fleet.
- Candidates must communicate effectively verbally and in writing, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and be willing to take on new challenges as the company grows.
- The position requires maintaining the FAA First Class Medical Certificate, remaining seated in a confined space for extended periods, and working in a flight-crew environment that may involve irregular hours, short-notice flight assignments or cancellations, and several days or weeks away from home each week.
