About This Role
The Las Vegas-based Pilot in Command/Captain for the Cessna 525 (CJ3) is responsible for safe and efficient ground and in-flight aircraft operations. The role emphasizes exceeding customer expectations, maintaining clear and effective communication with leadership, team members and dispatch, and leading and mentoring First Officers. Captains must support compliant, customer-focused flight operations while working in a small flight-crew environment that may involve irregular hours and time away from home.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain is administratively responsible to the Chief Pilot and is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient ground and in-flight operation of the aircraft.
- Duties include checking the identification of every passenger before boarding, thoroughly completing the pre-flight checklist, and training and mentoring First Officers on assigned flights and aircraft.
- The Captain is expected to anticipate customer needs and exceed customer expectations, comply with FAA regulations, Thrive's General Operations Manual, operational specifications and department operating procedures, and maintain communication and coordination with the assigned crew, dispatch, maintenance and administration.
- The role also includes performing other duties assigned by management or senior leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include 3,000 hours of fixed-wing total time, 1,500 hours of PIC total time and 500 hours of total turbine time.
- Applicants must hold a valid, unexpired US passport, an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate, an FCC Radio License and a current, valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- The role requires effective communication, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to take on new challenges as the company grows.
- Candidates must be eligible to fly internationally into any country or jurisdiction without restrictions and must reside in, or within two hours of, a major airport.
- Preferred qualifications include previous corporate aviation or Part 135 charter experience and a current type rating for an aircraft within Thrive Aviation's fleet.
- The physical requirements include maintaining the FAA First Class Medical Certificate and remaining seated in a small space for an extended period.
- The work may involve interacting with customers and other flight crew in a confined space, spending several days or weeks away from home during work periods, irregular hours and short-notice flight assignments or cancellations.
