About This Role
This is a Captain position with Centerline Logistics Corporation, a leading marine transportation services provider operating across US coasts and inland waterways. The role involves commanding tugs and barges, ensuring cargo and crew safety, managing vessel operations, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Candidates must hold a valid Coast Guard license (minimum 200 GT near Coastal with radar observer endorsement) and have 5 years of experience as Master towing barges on the US West Coast, SE Alaska, and Central Alaska. Requirements
- Valid Coast Guard license, minimum 200 GT near Coastal with radar observer endorsement
- Valid Master or Towing near Coastal endorsement
- 5 years of experience towing barges as Master on US West Coast, SE Alaska, and Central Alaska
- Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
- Valid first aid certificate
- Valid CPR training
- Valid HAZWOPER certificate or ability to complete 24-hour training within 6 months
- Valid radio operator's license
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English over radio
- Ability to effectively communicate in English and direct workers
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Ability to understand and use cargo information cards and material safety data sheets
- Ability to work in confined quarters for prolonged periods
- Physically capable of pulling heavy lines/hoses, lifting, climbing, and bending
- Ability to adapt to various schedules and work weekends, holidays, and nights
- Willingness to take call-outs
- Not afraid of heights
