About This Role
National Airways Corporation is seeking an experienced Captain to operate Beechcraft 1900 aircraft from their Johannesburg base in South Africa. This is a permanent position with a corporate/business aviation operator. The role requires a minimum of 3000 total flight hours with 1500 hours PIC, including 350 hours PIC in type and 500 hours multi-engine experience. Candidates must hold a valid ATPL license and Class 2 Medical Certificate, with ICAO English Level 4 proficiency. The position offers contract-based work with 6-9 week deployments, including charter operations and willingness to fly to high-risk areas in mountainous and desert conditions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate Beechcraft 1900 aircraft on charter missions
- Conduct pre-flight inspections and safety checks
- Manage crew resource management procedures
- Fly from Johannesburg and Lanseria bases
- Operate in challenging mountainous and desert environments
- Complete flight documentation and reports
Requirements
- Valid ATPL license
- ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher
- Minimum 3000 hours total flight time
- Minimum 1500 hours PIC time
- Minimum 350 hours PIC in Beechcraft 1900
- Minimum 500 hours in type
- Minimum 500 hours multi-engine experience
- Beechcraft 1900 type rating required
- Valid Class 2 Medical Certificate
- Able to work contract periods of 6-9 weeks
- Willing to fly charter operations from Lanseria
- Willing to travel to high-risk areas
- Own reliable transport
