About This Role
CAC (Civair) is seeking an experienced Captain for B767 operations based in Luqa, Malta. The airline requires a minimum of 5,000 total flight hours with 2,000 hours PIC on medium/heavy jets, along with a valid EASA ATPL license and Class I Medical Certificate. Candidates must hold an Instrument Rating and have 500 hours on type as Commander or equivalent Boeing Heavy Jet experience. This is a command position with full responsibility for flight safety, crew management, and aircraft operations on scheduled routes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain full responsibility and authority for safe conduct of flight
- Ensure safety of crew, aircraft, cargo, and supernumeraries
- Comply with standing regulations and clearances from competent authorities
- Serve as company representative on-board the aircraft
- Determine and confirm aircraft airworthiness prior to flight
- Review ATL, MEL, and CDL documentation
- Conduct preflight inspections of exterior and interior aircraft
- Ensure required fuel, mass, balance, and aircraft performance calculations
- Accept or reject aircraft based on airworthiness and maintenance status
- Conduct crew briefings with flight-relevant information
- Report hazardous weather or flight conditions to air traffic services
- Exercise full authority to issue commands and ensure safety
- Brief supernumeraries on emergency procedures and safety equipment
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, checklists, and critical phase restrictions
- Verify weather, runway condition, and aerodrome operating minima prior to takeoff
- Ensure proper security of crew and supernumeraries before takeoff and landing
- Verify all required documents and manuals are carried and valid
- Utilize company safety reporting system
Requirements
- Valid EASA Airline Transport Pilot (ATPL) License
- Valid Class I Medical Certificate
- Valid Instrument Rating (IR)
- Minimum 5,000 hours total flight time
- Minimum 2,000 hours PIC on medium/heavy jet aircraft (if type-rated)
- Minimum 500 hours on type as Commander or Boeing Heavy Jet equivalent
- B767 type rating required
- Comply with EASA Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1178/2011
- Maintain high standard of discipline and professional appearance
- No concurrent duties with other operators without prior approval from Flight Operations Manager
