About This Role
SriLankan Airlines is inviting applications for its Cadet Pilot Programme, which offers candidates the opportunity to develop toward a cockpit career while training alongside experienced aviation professionals. Applicants must already hold a current Sri Lankan Commercial Pilot License with Instrument rating, an ATPL knowledge endorsement, and a multi-engine aircraft rating, in addition to meeting CAASL medical and English-language standards. The programme includes training at SriLankan Airlines’ Approved Training Organization, with training costs recovered through salary deductions and selected candidates bonded to the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Cadet Pilot Programme is designed for participants to train alongside experienced aviation professionals, develop the skills required to command the cockpit, and take the first step toward a professional aviation career.
- Successful candidates will undergo training through SriLankan Airlines’ Approved Training Organization.
- Participants are also expected to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment that supports sustained team performance.
What We Offer
Successful candidates will be offered the opportunity to undergo training at SriLankan Airlines’ Approved Training Organization (ATO).As part of the organization’s professional-development investment, the cost of training will be recovered through salary deductions over a pre-agreed period.Selected candidates will be bonded to the organization during this period in recognition of the training commitment.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold a current Sri Lankan Commercial Pilot License with Instrument rating and a valid ATPL knowledge endorsement issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, together with a Multi-Engine Aircraft Rating endorsement on a CAASL or foreign license. The Sri Lankan Commercial Pilot License must be in the candidate’s possession by 21 September 2026. Candidates must hold a CAASL Class 1 Medical Certificate valid for at least one month beyond the 21 September 2026 application closing date, and must have ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or above. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognized university, certified by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka, is required. Applicants must be no older than 35 as at 21 September 2026, must be Sri Lankan citizens, and must have exposure to information technology, fluency in English, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to support a positive work environment that fosters team performance. After submitting the online application, candidates must email the specified documents as a single file to cadetpilot.recruitment@srilankan.com by 21 September 2026, using “Application reference number- Cadet Pilot” as the subject. The listed documents include the application form, NIC, pilot license, Class 1 Medical Certificate, proof of the Multi-Engine Rating, and certified Bachelor’s or Master’s academic certificates. Candidates who previously applied and underwent the process in 2025 must complete and submit the application form and provide only updated documents where applicable
