About This Role
Air India's Cadet Pilot Program is an entry pathway for aspiring aviators who want to become commercial airline pilots. The program uses a structured curriculum and expert instructors to develop the knowledge, skills, and experience required to progress from classroom learning to cockpit training. Applicants must meet the stated age, citizenship or OCI, English-language, height, educational, health, and DGCA Class 1 medical eligibility criteria before beginning flight training.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The cadet pathway provides structured preparation intended to develop the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to become a capable commercial airline pilot.
- Training is delivered through a guided curriculum with expert instructors and is designed to take candidates from classroom instruction through to the cockpit.
- The selection and progression process begins with screening applications against the defined eligibility criteria.
- Candidates who clear the screening stage proceed to an online assessment covering cognitive and behavioural skills, followed by a personal interview for shortlisted applicants.
Requirements
- Applicants must be Indian citizens or OCI holders and must be between 18 and 30 years old.
- They must demonstrate a good command of written and spoken English and meet the minimum height requirement of 158 cm.
- Educational eligibility requires a High School Education Certificate, with the National Institute of Open Schooling accepted, and 60% in 10+2 overall, including at least 60% in English, Mathematics, and Physics.
- Candidates must be in good physical and mental health and must clear a DGCA Class 1 Medical examination before starting flight training.
- Applications must be submitted by 30 April 2026.
- Applicants who have completed an assessment may reapply only after a three-month cooling period from the date of that assessment.
