About This Role
Middle East Airlines is recruiting motivated Lebanese nationals for its Cadet Pilot Training Program, leading to qualification as First Officers (co-pilots) and eventual service as flight crew on the airline's modern fleet. Successful candidates receive initial ab-initio training at a contracted flying school, usually Flight Training Europe, covering ground school, simulator work, airplane flying and a Jet Orientation Course over an estimated 66 weeks. The program is conducted under European civil aviation regulations and is designed to lead to the EASA ATPL, CPL, instrument and multi-engine qualifications, MCC and JOC, followed by an estimated eight-week type-rating course on MEA aircraft. The selection process includes academic, cognitive, mechanical, spatial, English, personality, psychometric, interview and medical stages.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The cadet is trained to become a qualified First Officer and eventually serve as part of MEA's flight crew within the Operations Division.
- The initial training includes ground school, simulator sessions and actual airplane flying, with instruction in aerodynamics and theory of flight, meteorology, airframes, engines and systems, flight instruments, radio and electrical theory, navigation, flight operations, human factors, VFR and IFR communications, air law, mass and balance, flight planning and aircraft performance.
- Flight training covers single-engine and twin-engine aircraft, followed by Multi Crew Cooperation and Jet Orientation courses.
- After initial training, the cadet completes type-rating training on MEA aircraft, followed by the Lebanese licence initial type-rating route.

What We Offer
The 66-week initial training program includes full-board accommodation. MEA handles formalities and travel arrangements, with estimated expenses accounted for within the total training-phase cost. In cases of financial difficulty, MEA may assist in arranging a credit facility subject to written request, committee evaluation and required security, including an estimated US$115,000 loan supported by a bank guarantee and/or real-estate mortgagerepayment begins from the first month of employment and is subject to approximately 5% annual interest and a 25% monthly-salary deduction. The starting First Officer salary is approximately US$3,500.00. Cadets must sign a ten-year employment contract, while type-rating costs are estimated at US$100,000 and temporary life and personal-accident insurance is required at the cadet's own expense.
Requirements
- Applicants must be Lebanese nationals with a recent clean judicial record, be medically fit, be prepared for rigorous medical, theoretical and flight training, and must not have applied to the program more than once
- one repeat is allowed. They must have been born between 20 October 1997 and 08 December 2007, inclusive. Education requirements are a Lebanese Baccalaureate or official equivalence, together with either a university degree in any major or a CPL/IR/ME license. Final-year university students expecting to graduate before 01 June 2026 may apply, but cannot begin training until their degree is earned. Physical requirements include a minimum height of 170 cm for males and 168 cm for females, weight appropriate to height, and an adequate BMI. Candidates must be in good health, complete and obtain physician approval for MEA's medical screening form, and be non-smokers or stop smoking and provide proof. English and Arabic speaking, reading and writing ability is required.
