Spirit Airlines seeks a Base Chief Pilot for Fort Lauderdale to serve as the senior Flight Operations leader and advocate for pilots at the base. This director-level role requires ATP certification, A320 type rating, and strong Part 121 operational experience with flight operations leadership background. Position includes leadership responsibilities, operational oversight, station engagement, and regular Part 91/121 flying.
Requirements
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- A320 Type Rating required (or ability to obtain prior to assumption of flight duties)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Strong mastery of Part 121 flying and operational decision-making
- Prior flight operations leadership, management, training, safety, instructor/check airman, or technical pilot experience
- Familiarity with Spirit Airlines Pilot CBA or ability to quickly learn and apply its provisions
- Remain current and proficient on A320 series aircraft
- Able to operate both Part 91 and Part 121 flights regularly
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate (implied)
- Strong communicator with collaborative leadership style
- Available for 24/7 support as needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to quickly learn operational, training, and safety systems
- Strong safety mindset, professionalism, and integrity
- Sound operational judgment in time-sensitive situations
- Applicants over 65 may serve with flight duties limited to Part 91 only
