Spirit Airlines seeks a Director-level Base Chief Pilot for the A320 family to lead pilots at an assigned base. This is a leadership role requiring ATP certification, A320 type rating, and prior flight operations leadership experience. Must remain current on A320 and operate Part 121 and Part 91 flights regularly.
Requirements
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- A320 Type Rating required (or ability to obtain prior to assumption of flight duties)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Strong mastery of Part 121 flying and operational decision-making
- Prior flight operations leadership, management, training, safety, instructor/check airman, or technical pilot experience
- Familiarity with Spirit Airlines Pilot CBA or ability to quickly learn its provisions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to quickly learn operational, training, and safety systems (CAE products, departmental interfaces, safety software)
- Strong communicator with collaborative leadership style
- Available for 24/7 support including duty phone rotation
- Ability to serve as crewmember during extended duty periods
- Valid medical certification required
- ICAO English proficiency required
- Applicants over 65 may serve with flight duties limited to Part 91 only
- Must remain current and proficient on A320 series
- Strong safety mindset, professionalism, integrity, and sound operational judgment
