About This Role
Pacific Coastal Airlines is hiring permanent full-time B1900 Direct Entry Captains to join its flight crew based in Vancouver, out of the South Terminal of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in Richmond, British Columbia. As a regional Canadian carrier, Pacific Coastal flies its network across British Columbia, from major international airports to remote communities such as Tofino, Bella Bella, and Bella Coola. Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as pilot-in-command (Captain) of the Beechcraft 1900 as part of Pacific Coastal Airlines' flight crew, operating the airline's scheduled regional network throughout British Columbia.
- Routes range from busy international airports to smaller and remote destinations across the province, including communities such as Tofino, Bella Bella, and Bella Coola.
What We Offer
Pacific Coastal offers a starting base salary ranging from $81,600 to $118,000, an hourly per diem of $5.10 per duty hour, and additional Trainer Pay Premiums for Training Captains.Crews are guaranteed a minimum of 80 flying credits per month, work a maximum 18 duty-period schedule, and can commute within the network (pending approval during hiring based on the requested commuting location), with Wild Card Days and socialized schedule-control systems.The package includes 12 banked statutory holidays that can be spent to replace scheduled work days, a 3% matching RRSP plan after the probationary period, and the Sunlife Health Benefits Package.Pacific Coastal pays 100% of the premiums for Extended Health and Dental coverage and 50% of the premiums for disability, life, and AD&D insurance, with coverage that also includes paramedical, emergency out-of-country medical, vision care, short-term and long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance, and optional critical illness.Additional perks include jump seat privileges with WestJet, Air Canada, Porter, Flair and more, employee and family travel benefits across multiple carriers (WestJet, Air Canada, Icelandair, Delta, Allegiant, Cathay Pacific, Alaska Airlines and more), and a peer-to-peer rewards program.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications for Direct Entry Captains: 2,000 hours total time
- 1,000 hours pilot-in-command (PIC) time
- and 1,000 hours of relevant experience, where relevant experience is considered to be multi-engine, multi-crew, IFR, and/or turbine experience flown in a Canadian 600/702/703/704/705 operation. Applicants must hold a valid Canadian ATPL and a valid Category 1 Medical Certificate, and must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC). Candidates must be a Canadian citizen or Canadian permanent resident, or hold a valid permit to work in Canada
- must be able to travel to and from the United States without restrictions
- and must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
