Kalitta Air seeks an experienced Assistant Chief Pilot to manage day-to-day flight operations at their Ypsilanti, MI headquarters. This management role requires a Captain-ranked pilot with minimum 2500 total hours, 1500 jet hours, and ability to upgrade on B747 or B777. The position involves crew oversight, regulatory coordination, and pilot interviewing/hiring.
Requirements
- FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Certificate or Restricted Multi-Engine Airline Pilot Certificate
- Minimum 2500 hours total flight time (4000 hours preferred)
- Minimum 1500 turbine (jet) flight hours
- Minimum 500 PIC turbine (jet) flight hours
- Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
- FCC Radio License
- Current US Passport
- Ability to pass 10-year security background check
- Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Ability to upgrade on B747 or B777
- No restrictions on international travel
- Previous experience as Check Airman, Assistant Chief Pilot, Chief Pilot, Fleet Manager, or Director of Operations at FAR 121/135 carrier preferred
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or related field preferred
- Previous Boeing aircraft operating experience preferred
- Manage day-to-day flight crew operations and adherence to company policies
- Prepare and distribute crew instructions, bulletins, and manual information
- Coordinate with departments for FAA, ICAO, and EASA compliance
- Assist Chief Pilot with pilot interviewing and hiring
- Act on Chief Pilot's behalf when required
