State of Alaska is seeking Aircraft Pilot 1s for law enforcement and search and rescue missions based in Anchorage. Requires 1500 total hours with 500 PIC fixed-wing and commercial/instrument pilot certifications. Position includes travel throughout Alaska with an alternating 8 on/6 off schedule.
Requirements
  • Single engine commercial pilot certificate
  • Instrument pilot rating
  • Minimum 1500 hours total flight time
  • Minimum 500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) fixed-wing aircraft
  • Minimum 250 hours PIC as Alaska time (100 hours within 12 months prior to employment)
  • 100 hours turboprop experience preferred
  • Current FAA Licensure and Class of Medical Certification as Commercial Pilot or ATP
  • Valid FAA medical certificate appropriate to aircraft type
  • Ability to make safe go/no-go flight decisions
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures
  • Computer skills for web-based weather briefings and flight planning
  • Successful completion of flight check with certified flight instructor
  • Successful fingerprint-based criminal history background check
  • No misdemeanor crime of domestic violence conviction
  • Valid passport
  • Three professional references (two from direct supervisors)
  • Last two performance evaluations
  • Confidentiality agreement signature
