State of Alaska is seeking Aircraft Pilot 1s for law enforcement and search and rescue missions based in Anchorage. Requires 1500 total hours with 500 PIC fixed-wing and commercial/instrument pilot certifications. Position includes travel throughout Alaska with an alternating 8 on/6 off schedule.
Requirements
- Single engine commercial pilot certificate
- Instrument pilot rating
- Minimum 1500 hours total flight time
- Minimum 500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) fixed-wing aircraft
- Minimum 250 hours PIC as Alaska time (100 hours within 12 months prior to employment)
- 100 hours turboprop experience preferred
- Current FAA Licensure and Class of Medical Certification as Commercial Pilot or ATP
- Valid FAA medical certificate appropriate to aircraft type
- Ability to make safe go/no-go flight decisions
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures
- Computer skills for web-based weather briefings and flight planning
- Successful completion of flight check with certified flight instructor
- Successful fingerprint-based criminal history background check
- No misdemeanor crime of domestic violence conviction
- Valid passport
- Three professional references (two from direct supervisors)
- Last two performance evaluations
