About This Role
Berry Aviation is seeking an experienced Aircraft Captain to operate DHC-8 aircraft for OCONUS (outside continental United States) operations, primarily supporting aerial delivery and government contracting missions in austere environments. The role is based in San Marcos, Texas and involves complex flight planning, crew management, and safety-critical decision-making for FAR Part 135 operations. Candidates must hold an ATPL with multi-engine rating, possess 1,500 PIC hours (500 multi-engine), and be capable of obtaining a U.S. Secret-level security clearance. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging government contracts in remote locations with operations potentially involving NVG (night vision goggle) procedures and diverse weather conditions.
Requirements
- FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Pilot (ATPL) Certificate
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- Current U.S. Passport with at least 6 months validity remaining
- Minimum 1,500 hours PIC time
- Minimum 500 hours PIC multi-engine time
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret-level security clearance
- High school diploma
- Ability to lift minimum 50 lbs
- Ability to perform aircraft piloting duties up to 10 hours daily
- Exposure tolerance to extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, adverse weather)
- Employment eligibility verification (I-9 compliance)
- Preferred: 3,000+ total flight hours
- Preferred: 1,200+ multi-engine turbine hours
- Preferred: Experience in aerial delivery operations
- Preferred: NVG operations experience
- Preferred: Current active U.S. Secret-level security clearance
- Preferred: Minimum 1 year FAR Part 135 pilot experience
- Preferred: Minimum 1 year government contracting experience in OCONUS austere environments
