About This Role
Cox Enterprises is seeking an Aircraft Captain to serve as the Pilot in Command of their corporate business jet operations. The Captain will be the primary representative to passengers and hold final authority over all flight operations, with responsibilities including preflight inspections, flight planning, weather analysis, and crew coordination. This is a corporate aviation role requiring an ATP license, First-Class Medical, previous jet type rating experience, and a minimum of 3000 total flight hours with 1500 hours on turbine aircraft. The position offers a competitive salary range of $179,600-$299,400 annually, flexible unlimited vacation time, seven paid holidays, 160 hours of annual wellness time, and various other paid leave options. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC) on assigned flights
- Ensure preflight inspections are performed per company procedures
- Study weather conditions and forecasts for departure, route, destination, and alternate airports
- Prepare flight plans when necessary in absence of Flight Coordinator/Dispatcher
- Ensure aircraft is clean and provisioned for passenger safety and comfort
- Supervise the Second in Command in duties necessary for safe and efficient operation
- Coordinate duties of all crew members assigned to the flight
- Monitor crew performance and share aeronautical knowledge
- Communicate maintenance issues to technical operations and maintenance personnel
- Comply with all federal, state, local, and foreign regulations and company policies
- Maintain compliance with schedules and directives for safe and efficient aircraft operation
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
- 10 years' experience in aviation or related field (or equivalent combination such as Master's degree with 8 years or 14 years total aviation experience)
- Valid ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) Certification
- First-Class Medical Certification
- Previous Jet Type Rating
- Minimum 1500 hours of turbine flight time
- Minimum 3000 hours total flight time
- Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- High degree of aeronautical skill and knowledge
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
