Metrea seeks experienced Aerial Firefighting Line Pilots to join its Special Air Missions Group, operating multi-engine airtankers in aerial firefighting operations. This role requires minimum 500 hours PIC with FAA Commercial or ATP license, preferably with DHC-8 and retardant delivery experience. Position offers competitive salary ($100K-$200K annually) and extensive domestic/international travel.
Requirements
- Flying experience in aerial firefighting capacity (>200 hours)
- FAA multi-engine Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license with Instrument rating
- Equivalent EASA unrestricted license with valid medical certificate
- Minimum 500 hours Pilot In Command (PIC) Airplane with 100 hours night time and 75 hours instrument
- Minimum 100 hours PIC within the last twelve months
- Capable of receiving a Canadian Foreign License Validation Certificate
- Exceptional proficiency in English, both spoken and written
- Flight planning and aircraft pre-flight checks
- Coordination with schedulers, clients, and aircrew
- Support development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Participate in Aviation Safety and Management System
- Complete post-flight documentation including flight logs and FAA reports
- Maintain licensing and endorsements for applicable aviation authority
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment with limited supervision
- Ability to complete flight training program demonstrating job proficiency
- Maintain composure in highly stressful or adverse situations
