About This Role
The Mayo Clinic Airplane Pilot-SIC serves as second-in-command for Part 135 airplane air ambulance operations, based at the Rochester, MN airport. The pilot ensures safe flight operations, participates in the department's Safety Management System (SMS), and supports CAMTS and IS-BAO accreditation standards. Position is 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) on day and night 12-hour shifts.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • The Mayo Clinic Airplane Pilot-SIC serves as second-in-command (SIC) for Part 135 airplane air ambulance operations, and will be based at the Rochester, MN, airport.
  • Pilots support safe flight operations, actively participate in the department's Safety Management System (SMS), and perform additional tasks to support the Mayo Clinic air carrier certificate as well as CAMTS and IS-BAO accreditation standards.
  • The pilot will participate in initial and recurrent simulator training.
Requirements
  • Current FAA Commercial Airplane Certificate.
  • Airplane Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
  • 850 Total Time.
  • 150 hours multi-engine.
  • Ability to attain an ATP Certificate within 5 years.
  • Prefer 500 hours PIC airplane.
  • Prefer 200 hours cross country.
  • Prefer 100 hours IFR, 50 of which are actual IFR.
  • Prefer 100 hours night PIC.
  • Prefer turbo-prop and/or jet experience.
  • Prefer 4-year Degree.
  • Pilot weight must not exceed 250 pounds (114 kilograms).
  • Current Commercial Airplane Multi-Engine Land with Instrument Privileges.
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
